Do you keep track of your weight?

This was more of a article with some statistics since I couldn't find a "snap shot"

Highlights of the article

  • 69% of adults say they track some health issue
  • Most keep track in their heads or on paper
  • Just 21% use technology, like smartphone apps

An argument that can be made about those statistics is: Only 69 % of adults actually care about keeping track of SOME health issues, shouldn't they be worried about ALL of them?

Another argument that can be derived from viewing these quick stats are that only 21% of people keep track of their health issues with smart phones so maybe we aren't in a era where everyone is dependent on technology..

New Perspective!

People would probably view me as childish, loud and friendly but a complainer. People would view me as being childish because i talk about my favorite TV shows, & Anime which are mostly cartoon related. People would view me as being loud because of all the rock bands I listen to, they would assume that I'd blast rock songs all night. People would view me as being friendly especially if they are looking at my facebook profile because I write to a lot of people and if the conversation between me and the other person is interesting it usually continues for days or weeks. I use 90 % of social media to complain about the tragedies I go through throughout the day such as, tripping somewhere, burning my tongue, not having a pen, being hungry and the list continues. I always have weird profile pictures of myself at a certain angle so people would probably think I'm odd. Also people will view me as a Twilight fan because where ever people bash Twilight I am there to put my two cents in. :)

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

But words always have a deeper meaning.

This past Monday, President Barack Obama gave a emotional and impacting speech.  In this speech he touched upon many topics that were brought up before he was elected back into office such as immigration laws, gay rights, global warming, boosting up the economy, jobs, equality in social statuses, social security, medicare and other relating issues. He made some valid points, like if everyone strives to achieve this american dream then why can't everyone have an equal chance at doing it, love is love no matter what sex it is with, everyone Using his authoritative power, good language choice and powerful emphasis he argues that we, as a nation have to fix all our problems together and that we are all equal.
In his speech he uses this quote "No single person can train all the math and science teachers we’ll need to equip our children for the future, or build the roads and networks and research labs that will bring new jobs and businesses to our shores. Now, more than ever, we must do these things together, as one nation, and one people", to support his argument that we need to work together. "Towards the end of the speech he classified himself as a citizen ("You and I, as citizens") so instead of distinguishing him as a superior, we would recognize him as a equal so we would feel more connected with him, he is putting himself in our shoes. He acknowledges that some Americans are selfish and with this quote he brings down a feeling of equality upon the audience,"We recognize that no matter how responsibly we live our lives, any one of us, at any time, may face a job loss, or a sudden illness, or a home swept away in a terrible storm."
Everything that Obama had said had a deeper meaning that just touched many people, he didn't use huge words that people couldn't comprehend, he kept it simple. Also he is just a great public speaker, he made me feel as if I was important, as if i was a big contribute to the society even though I'm only a mere college student. Even with my role as a college student I feel as if I have to help pave the way for generations that are forth coming, and hopefully they'll enter into a world, better than it already is.

What does red remind you of?

To interpret? What is it really, is it the formal definition: Explain the meaning of (information, words, or actions) or is it something else? One's interpretation can never be wrong because that is how they perceive the information, text, actions or images. To interpret is one of the interesting skills that us humans have, and are lucky to have. Without us interpreting everything, people wouldn't get exactly what the artists from the 1800's were trying to express through their paintings and sculptures, and we wouldn't even understand Shakespeare, even though that doesn't sound like much of a loss. Interpreting objects is essential for us to understand each and everything we see and read. When you hear of donating you usually interpret things that are associated with donating such as organizations like the Salvation Army, The American Red Cross, WWF, and etc. Usually these organizations want money 9 times out 10, in some way or form, either by actually donating a certain amount or purchasing a product from them that represents their organization and your funds go to the cause. People sometimes donate and others just brush them off because they're barely making it themselves or are selfish. There are other ways that people can donate that doesn't involve money such as donating your hair, organs, clothes/shoes and blood.  In this image it uses the quote "Money isn't everything" because in society we are known to live by the quote "Money makes the world go 'round".  In Society we hold money as a high attribute in life because it is very useful, essential to high standard living, we can buy materialistic things, and it keeps the economy going. This image argues that money isn't everything because you can "save up to three lives" without having to spend a dime by donating your blood. This image displays a box full of blood instead of money, because usually people ask you to donate money to help people in other parts of the country for their illness, diseases, famine, for natural disasters and etc. By donating blood you can save a life, it's free to donate and someone out there needs your blood, of course there are some requirements you have to meet before donating your blood but it's for a good cause. Some people could help by actually donate their money, but for people that aren't that fortunate there are plenty of free ways to donate.

To Infinity and Beyond

What's that I hear?

Throughout my life I've always been noticed as the more shy, reserved, patient type of lady and those characteristics are true because if you've known me long enough you would know that I'm too shy, somewhat reserved and patient when I want to be. I believe that a clock is the best object that represents me. This clock, instead of regular numbers it would be numbered by roman numerals, the black lettering would still be the same, a red frame, gold minute and hour hands and colorful minute lines. Clocks are useful and unnoticeable. Clocks are good for telling the hour of the day but sadly since the clock has been around so much students tend to block out the annoying ticking that emerges from it. (Not including digital clocks obviously) I am very useful but I tend to go unnoticed because I am very shy and soft spoken. Clocks are trapped in a loop of repeating the same times, day in and day out.  Just like my life, which could have a few changes, but I always end up finding a way to create a routine for myself, repeating the same thing the next day and so forth. Clocks are a great attribute to society and one day I hope that I or my work will be too.
